JioPhone is finally going to be available for pre-order today at 5:30 p.m. There are two ways to do the booking and one of them is to use your smartphone itself, while the other process is to go to the nearest retailer who would accept your pre-booking or use MyJio app.
The JioPhone, that was unveiled at the Reliance Industries AGM on 21st July 2017 is available to customers at an effective price of zero, ie, effectively free. Customers are required to pay a fully refundable, one-time, security deposit of Rs 1,500 against every JioPhone to avoid potential misuse. The JioPhone will be distributed on a ‘first come first serve’ basis to only those who pre-book starting 24th August 2017.
Here’s how to pre-book the JioPhone
Using MyJio app installed on your phone at 5:30 p.m. on 24th August, you will see a banner on the top as the shortcut and from there, you can start the pre-booking process by entering the details and paying Rs. 500 as the booking fee and this will get deducted from the charges later, so you will have to pay the remaining Rs. 1000 when the phone gets delivered.
A JioPhone user can use the JioPhone for 36 months and can get a full refund of the security deposit of Rs. 1,500 by returning the used JioPhone. The Phone is coming with three plans, one of which is for Rs. 153 per month with free voice calls, unlimited data, free 300 SMS, and the Jio Apps subscription. The other two include a weekly plan for Rs. 53 and a 2-day plan for Rs. 23.
