The smartphone’s USP is the ability to make your live videos look much better with an inbuilt app called ‘Beauty Live’. ASUS ZenFone Live has a price tag of Rs. 9,999. Read our Review
With the launch of the ZenFone AR earlier this year along with the ZenFone 3 Zoom for camera enthusiasts. Asus next targeted the ‘Live Audience’ and launched the ZenFone Live. Asus Zenfone Live is supposed to make your live videos look much better. This will appeal to those who like to go live for everything, be it eating breakfast, cooking dinner, picking up your kid from school. I suppose the list of occasions is endless, depending on your personal preference for streaming your life out to the world. So does the Asus Zenfone Live live up to this claim?
Asus Zenfone Live Specifications
5-inch 720p resolution display | Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with Adreno 305 GPU | 2GB RAM + 16GB storage space (expandable to 128GB) | 13MP rear camera + 5MP front camera with 1.4um pixel size, LED flash | 2600 mAh battery | Android M with ZenUI
The Phone has a compact feel to it and very light to hold because of it’s plastic unibody and the metallic finish at the back, it is quite light at just 120 grams to be exact. The edges and corners are curved and smaller form factor offers a nice grip as well. The Review unit that we received had a gold finish with a white bezel on the front. Despite the use of plastic, the smartphone doesn’t look like a cheap phone. is same as other Zenfone models.
In terms of Software and UI, it is same as other Zenfone models. But it lacks in performance and storage. I feel that Asus could have added more storage and more ram.
Multitasking was fine, as it handled 10-12 apps running in the background. But it struggles to run high-end games like the new Injustice 2 game with heavy drops on frame rate, overheating and multiple crashes. But Asus didn’t make the phone for such task. it was made for going Live and live we went and in our opinion, it does the job it was meant to do. with the full charged battery we were able to do 3hrs of the live stream with 4G connection. The camera was able to perform well even in low light but beauty live made us look ‘Over Beautified’ and also faced some focusing issues but rest was fine.

If it had options to add overlays to the live stream from within the app it would be great but it didn’t, So I would give camera 7/10 and The Phone 6/10 Rating.
